Out of Scope Referrals
When This Comes Up
Section titled “When This Comes Up”Sometimes a patient needs care outside your scope, or further specialist investigation.
Gesondheid lets you either generate a referral letter or close the consultation without referral.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”From the consultation status menu, choose Out of Scope. You then choose one of two paths:
1. Refer to Specialist
Section titled “1. Refer to Specialist”Generate a referral letter with specialist details and clinical context.
- Specialist type and optional specialist name
- Reason for referral
- Relevant history and findings
Once generated, consultation is automatically marked out of scope with referral reason recorded.
2. Close Without Referral
Section titled “2. Close Without Referral”Marks consultation out of scope immediately, with no referral letter generated.
After Marking Out of Scope
Section titled “After Marking Out of Scope”On the consultation
Section titled “On the consultation”- Status updates to Out of Scope
- Reason is visible (for example: referred to specialist)
- Out of Scope action is not repeated on the same consultation
In documents
Section titled “In documents”Generated referral letters appear in the consultation documents list for later download or re-send.
